MATH 322: Applied Mathematics

Prerequisites: MATH 206 and (207 or 222 or 223)
Lectures: Tue Wed Thu 10:00-10:50 Co219 in Trimester 1; Tue Wed Thu 17:10-18:00 HMLT002 in Trim 2 timetable
Tutorials: A tutorial will take place each week during one of the lecture times.
Assignments: To be arranged
Assessment: A combination of assignment work, projects and tests depending on the topic, the final mark being the average of those in the 3 topics.
Prescription: Three topics in applied mathematics, not including any taken by the same candidate in GPHS/MATH 323. Topics may include: cartesian tensors, seismology, classical mechanics, fluid mechanics, meteorology, fractals, numerical analysis, quantum mechanics , special relativity.
Description: The first lecture on Tues 2 Mar at 10am in Co219 is to organise the modules you will take, so it is very important that you come along.
